Law Society's Hall Event

Law Society's Hall Gala Dinner

The second annual "Africa Inspired Foundation Ball" was held at the prestigious London Guildhall on April 26th 2008 celebrating the successes of Africans in Europe and also reflect on the roots and heritage that has allowed this to blossom.

Every year Africa Inspired Foundation aims to adopt two small African charities to will raise funding and awareness of the charities. This year's two charities are Ryico a charity that is dedicated to Rwanda’s Youth and Africa Alive Foundation an education fund for HIV orphans.

On the evening, the Africa Inspired Foundation Scholarship programme to empower disadvantaged Africans was also launched. The scholarship programme is aimed at providing higher education to promising African scholars each year.

AIF has set up a search network in Eastern and Southern Africa aiming to find gifted academics. The aim of this will be to provide these scholars with the tools that will allow them to better their own community and inevitably the African continent.

We hope to raise a minimum of 200,000 pounds annually for the foundation.

The Second Annual Africa Inspired Foundation Ball was hosted by lead anchor Peter Ndoro CNBC (director of corporate communications), our guests will include Stanley Musesengwa COO of Tate and Lyle, Archbishop Sentamu, ten eastern and southern Africa High commissioners and ambassadors and we have received keen interest from Bill Gates and US Senator Jesse Jackson with the list rapidly growing.

Our corporate sponsors will include Coca Cola, Google Africa, Master card, Africa Channel and SABC Africa who will televise the event.

The motivation for this event is not only to celebrate the achievements of Africans in Diaspora but also a reflection on the plight of those less fortunate in Africa.
